After they had already managed to achieve their childhood dream of warming up for Smashing Pumpkins, The River Phoenix turned their attention to creating an international name for themselves. In the course of 2009, they’ve toured Germany with The Stills, topped the billing on a series of concerts in their homeland Denmark, and completed several foreign showcases, to name SXSW, CMJ, Canadian Music Week and The Great Escape as examples. The debut album ‘Ritual’ was recorded with Pelle Gunnerfeldt behind the desk (The Hives, Logh) and offers intense and bombastic refrains, huge sonic surfaces and waves of lush guitar lines.
