Chrome Hill’s last album ‘Earthlings’ was declared as one of the 30 “Best Norwegian releases from 2008”, according to the bookers at Øya Festival.

‘Earthlings’ consists of nine new compositions by guitarist Asbjørn Lerheim. The music is anchored in jazz, but Chrome Hill collect inspiration from both Americana, Spaghettiwestern and noise rock. The collaboration with Christian Engfelt in Grand Sport Studio has given the album a strong and unique sound. Eirik Hegdal contributes baritone saxophone on three tracks. The band have since their beginning existed under the name Damp, and have released albums ‘Mostly Harmless (Songs)’ in 2003, and ‘Hoatzin’ in 2005. Dagbladet described the previous album ‘Hoatzin’ as “melody-based modern power jazz”. The band consists of Asbjørn Lerheim (baritone guitar), Jørgen Munkeby (tenor sax), Roger Arntzen (bass) and Torstein Lofthus (drums).
