Svermere
Svermere is a jazz-inspired folk music band with its base in Trondheim. They take their starting point in traditional Norwegian-Swedish folk music, and set it into a new soundscape. Most of the musicians in Svermere are connected to the institute for music at NTNU, and have played together in several different bands. Alska Brimi has won Landskappleiken on fiddle two times, and is one of Norway’s most prominent players. He brought the rest of the gang in to a pair of jam sessions in the winter of 2008, and thereafter the foundations were set for a swarming playground where folk music, rock and jazz melt together. Svermere enjoy being on stage and want to play concerts and spread their music out to so many listeners as possible.
