Kollwitz
Kollwitz is a relatively new band in Oslo’s music world. The members come originally from Bodø, where they have been an important part of the fantastic local music scene, in bands such as Beyond The Fences, The Spectacle, Hjertesorg and Oceanism amongst others. After many years faithful service in their home town, they are now ready to make a name for themselves in Oslo and the rest of the world.
The music is based on long and careful progressions, grand dynamic breadth and the contrast between vulnerable melodies and brutal noise. Many will surely think of Kollwitz as a metal band. They however feel that they have as much in common with hardcore punk, postrock and other experimental genres: a musical landscape where they attempt to a find common ground on widely varied plateau of influences.
