Serena Maneesh NO

Oslo based psychedelic/shoe-gaze/noise/avante-garde world beaters Serena Maneesh return to the fold in 2010 with their second LP, this time with the aid of acclaimed UK label 4AD (TV On The Radio, Pixies) in their corner. The band consisting of founder and frontman Emil Nikolaisen, sister Hilma, Tommy Akerholdt (Silver), Øystein Sandsdalen(Le Corbeau) and Ådne Meisfjord (120 Days) toured the world in 2006-2008 to support their acclaimed debut. This included high profile support slots with Nine Inch Nails, Oasis and The Dandy Warhols. In the meantime Nikolaisen has been masterminding a whole range of sounds that will finally see the light of day in March 2010 worldwide on 4AD. We are thrilled to present them at by:Larm on 19th February 2010.

Serena Maneesh are also confirmed to play at the revered All Tomorrows Parties Festival (curated by My Bloody Valentine) in the UK in December, Eurosonic in January and extensive world wide clubs and festivals throughout 2010.

“They get it, their demeanor electric and alternating, built off antagonistic relationships. The band, like the instrument, are apt to prove noise and un-noise are of one cut.” Pitchfork (8.6 – Best New Music)

“One of the most intriguing walls of sound since My Bloody Valentine circa Isn’t Anything.” Uncut

“Serena-Maneesh make strangely beautiful and lushly noisy pop using guitars that are alternately washed out or shrieking, distorted samples, and breathy female vocals singing lyrics in broken English.” Village Voice

“Listen loud: Fall apart smiling. It’s that simple.” Drowned In Sound (9/10)
