The Urban Blues Band (Union Blues Band)
The Urban Blues Band from Tromsø was established in the spring of 2006 and travel the dusty streets of Texas-blues, seasoned with inspiration from other genres. Amongst their inspiration sources you can find Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and Johnny Winter to mention just a few. The repertoire consists of a steadily increasing portion of their own material and cover songs, and work on an album due for release in the 2009 is under way.
In April 2009 they pulled the long straw during the North Norway Blues Championship in Moi Rana. The win sent the guys further to Notodden Blues Festival where they also emerged victorious after a hard competition, and they can therefore crown themselves with the title “Union Blues band 2010”.
The band has big plans for the road forward. In addition to being Union Blues Band for 2010 they are planning to record an EP in the winter 2010 with some selected self produced songs for sale and distribution at concerts. As Union Blues Band 2010 the boys from the north are ready for concerts at by:Larm and over the whole country.
