Frode Fivel first came onto the music scene with the band “Hello Goodbye”. Following the release of their 7" “African Nights” (1999) on the label Smalltown Supersound, they soon became favourites in the Norwegian underground music scene, and they lived up to the hype with their debut album “Heart attack” in 2002. Released on Racing Junior, the album recieved rave reviews, and compared them to bands such as Velvet Underground, The Cramps, and The White Stripes. In 2003 however, Fivel took his first steps out into the solo spotlight with his solo debut “Patience will win”. Once again critics enthusiasticly cheered, and the album was hailed as “a masterpiece” by Norways largest radio station, and recieved top reviews everywhere. After this, Fivel once again united with “Hello Goodbye” for their 2004 sophomore attempt “Haunted Holiday”, followed by an extensive tour of Europe and the U.S. Fans of his solo work have had to be patient since 2003, but now, as this bio is written, it is time for Frode Fivels second solo release “A Kid is just a Kid” on Cafe Superstar Recordings. For this album, he brought in some of the most interresting and best musicians that Norwegian rock has to offer right now! These guys play/have played with artists such as DumDum Boys, Tommy Tokyo, Tranquil, Sivert Høyem and the volunteers, Apoptygma Berzerk, Elvira Nicolaysen, Karen Jo Fields, EPA, Safariari and Furia.. Guitar player Magnus Abelsen(EPA) has engineered and co-produced with Frode, and they have made an album that is eclectic, pop-catchy as hell, but unafraid of experimentation and going their very own way..

PATIENCE WILL WIN
5/6 VG
