Here are the nominees for the 2010 Statoil grant
29. January, 2010
The grant of 800 000 NOK will be given to a norwegian group or artist on the edge of an international break- through.
Last year, the multitalented musician Mathias Eick received the desirable grant, and the money has been used for extensive touring in Europe and Asia. These days Mathias Eick is also in the studio, recording the follow-up to the success album «The Door». The Statoil grant is the largest of its kind here in Norway, and is a fantastic gift for norwegian groups with international potential.
The Statoil grant can make all the difference for a band, says general manager of by:Larm:
-Our experience with the Statoil grant is that it has given norwegian talents the muscles to really take the big international step. In a world of music where touring is ever more important, the grant is the neccesary key to new, big markets. We could clearly see this in Ida Marias international conquest, and Mathias Eicks´ successful tours in the UK and Asia last year.
Statoil has for years believed in new young talents within both culture and sports, but this is the largest grant Statoil awards to talents in rhytmical music.
The nominees for the Statoil grant are:
Casiokids
The Cumshots
Diskjokke
Donkeyboy
Ingrid Olava
Jaga Jazzist
Katzenjammer
Serena Maneesh
Susanna & The Magical Orchestra
Thom Hell
