Steve Knopper works as a freelance journalist and covers the music business for Rolling Stone magazine. He have authored a number of books, and his recent release,“Appetite for Self-Destruction: The Rise and fall of the Record Industry in The Digital Age” takes a look at events and key players from the introduction of the CD up until today. It trys to explain where it all went wrong, and Knopper traces the roots of todays digital anarchy back to choices made many years ago in the music industry heydays of the 80´s. The book features tales about legendary record label moguls like Walter Yetnikoff and Tommy Motola, and HBO have secured the rights to a feature flm based on the book. Knopper will talk about his observations and comment on the book in a conversation (interviewer TBA).
